Echo
You echo through my mind
and you chatter my teeth
and rush the flood of sweat
out of my pores and onto the street
where the strangers get washed away
in the sewer filled with mold and mud.
You climb down the cables of my
neck and grab hold of my spine
and you twist the nerve in a loop
so that I lay dead on my bed.
You bleed out of my skin and
I smear the walls and the faces
of the people I know with the
crimson tears of your eyes.
I drown you in the lake
and you reach for the moon
like it was a tether ball
swinging, and swinging.
